Savecations make sense as the study conducted by the tour operator shows that a holiday abroad works out cheaper than staying in the UK and holidaymakers tend to have the added bonus of guaranteed sunshine. What's not to like?

Families feel the squeeze more than ever and it is certain that we will all be shopping around for the best bargain. Is it a new trend? Not really. As holiday makers are becoming savvier and savvier and comparison web sites are popping up all over the place, the battle for the best price around will become more and more ferocious.

Interestingly the luxury market remains unscathed by this trend as customers still don't mind paying up for unique experiences. Spa holidays, cookery classes and learning holidays never had it better, and maybe experiential holidays are the future of travel.
